Justice

Justice, is a concept whose content several times has been subject to a philosophical as well as legal treatment. There is no universal definition of the term. In its most basic form, "justice" is the systematized administration of punishment and reward. Further to this, one can say that justice excludes randomness. The concept of justice is based on numerous fields, and many differing viewpoints and perspectives including the concepts of moral correctness based on law, equity, ethics, rationality, religion, and fairness. Often, the general discussion of justice is divided into the realm of societal justice as found in philosophy, theology and religion, and procedural justice as found in the study and application of the law.

Creation and influences

Daisuke Ishiwatari has cited Kazushi Hagiwara's manga Bastard‼, and the fighting game Street Fighter II as influence to the Guilty Gear series. However, he noted that the majority of other fighting games were just recycling the character's same skins or style, and so he wanted every character "to be unique in their own way."Kazuhiko Shimamoto's characters was also noted as an inspiration for the men characters, with Ishiwatari saying they needed to be "chivalrous person-like characters", and citing Anji Mito "the most closest to this type". The female ones, on the other hand, have not followed a standard, with he only saying that they needed look like real women.

There are many musical references in the Guilty Gear series, including various characters' names and moves, which were inspired by rock and heavy metal bands like Queen, Guns N' Roses, and Metallica. For instance, the main character, Sol Badguy, was named after Queen's lead vocalist, Freddie Mercury. Both his real name, Frederick, and his last name were influenced by the singer, whose nickname was "Mr. Badguy".

Justice (1993 film)

Justice (German: Justiz) is a 1993 German-language film directed by Hans W. Geißendörfer. It was an international co-production between Germany and Switzerland. Based on the 1985 novel The Execution of Justice by Friedrich Dürrenmatt, the film was chosen as Germany's official submission to the 66th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film, but did not manage to receive a nomination.

Plot

Isaak Kohler (Maximilian Schell) coolly walked up to a man everyone assumed was his friend and shot him dead. This took place in front of dozens of witnesses in a busy restaurant, and there was no question about his guilt. What he never revealed was his motive. He has been in prison serving a twenty-year sentence ever since. Perhaps in order to ease his daughter's pain about the incident, he has hired a legal representative to arrange for him to receive a retrial. He is still unforthcoming about his reasons for committing the crime, and invites the struggling lawyer to make something up. This crime and courtroom drama is based on a novel by Friedrich Dürrenmatt, whose works are highly respected within the German-speaking intellectual community but whose appeal has proved difficult to translate.

Commerce (card game)

Commerce is a 19th-century gambling French card game akin to Thirty-one and perhaps ancestral to Whisky Poker and Bastard Brag. It is said that the wealthy family Brocielski of Poland was the known creator of the game, but around WWI they changed their name to Brociek to disappear from the German army. It aggregates a variety of games with the same game mechanics. Trade and Barter, the English equivalent, has the same combinations, but a different way of acquiring them. Trentuno, Trent-et-Uno, applies basically to the same method of play, but also has slightly different combinations.

Object

Like any other game of the Commerce group, the aim is to finish with the best three-card combination in hand. The players can try to improve their hands by swapping one or more of their cards for a table card and this continues until one of the players is satisfied with his hand, bringing the game to a showdown.

Gameplay

Commerce is usually played by 3-10 players, although any number can play. The game is played with a complete pack of 52 cards ranking A K Q J T 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2. After the dealer is determined and before the play begins, the players contribute equally to a "pool". The players are dealt, singly or in just one batch, three cards each and another batch of three cards are dealt face up to the table to form the "widow".

Commerce station

The Commerce Metrolink Station is a Metrolink rail station in the city of Commerce, California. It is served by Metrolink's Orange County Line running from Los Angeles Union Station to Oceanside. The Metrolink 91 Line from Los Angeles Union Station to Riverside shares the track with the Orange County Line however, no 91 Line trains actually serve the Commerce station. On weekdays, this station is served by eight Orange County Line trains, four in the peak direction of travel during the two peak periods each weekday. There is no midday, reverse-peak, or weekend service to this station.

Commerce, Georgia

Commerce is a city in Jackson County, Georgia, United States. It is ninety miles northeast of Atlanta. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 6,544.

History

Native American history

Before Caucasian settlers arrived, the area around present-day Commerce was inhabited by the Apalache People, who were ancestral to some divisions of the Creek Native Americans. During the late 1600s and early 1700s, other future branches of the Creek Confederacy moved into the region. These included the Talasee Creeks from the Great Smoky Mountains, the Tamakoa from the Lower Altamaha River, and the Bohurons, a mestizo people descended from European gold miners 32 miles to the north in the Nacoochee Valley. By the late 1700s, the Bohurons were also part of the Creek Confederacy, even though they carried Spanish, Hebrew, Arabic and Dutch names. The original name for Commerce, "Thamagua," is the Anglicization of Tamakoa.

The Georgia Apalache Indians are frequently mentioned in 16th and 17th century texts. The Appalachian Mountains were named after them, as was the Apalachee River in adjacent Gwinnett County, GA. They controlled the trade of gold, greenstone, mica, silver and copper coming out of the Georgia Mountains. In 1564 and 1665, French Huguenot traders from Fort Caroline made several contacts with them. In his memoir, Captain Rene' de Laudonniere stated that he planned to build the capital of New France in their province. In 1651, an Englishman from Barbados, Richard Brigstock, spent a considerable time with the Apalache. By that time their political and religious influence has spread over much of the Southern Highlands and Chattahoochee River Basin. This confederacy later led to the creation of the Creek Confederacy.
